The Campus

Student Welfare Officer (SWO) :

 

There is a student welfare officer in the college to guide the students and to attend the grievances of students. Regular campus interviews by many companies will be conducted for the placement of students.

 

Students Home :

 

A spacious building exclusively meant for students activities outside the classroom and labs is situated near the Geography Dept. It is equipped with reading room, a small library and toilet facilities. The college Gymkhana office is also located in the students home.

 

College Canteen :

 

Well furnished Canteen has its own building on the college campus which will cater to the refreshment needs of students, teachers, non-teaching and managerial staff. Hygienic and quality food is supplied at the subsidized rates fixed by Karnatak University.

 

Post office :

 

A post office is situated in the Deputy Commissioners office campus near the college which is workable. Distrct Head Post Office is also near to the college campus.

 

Syndicate bank :

 

A branch of the Syndicate Bank is situated at the central place on the college campus. All transactions of the students like payment of fees, scholarships etc. are handled through the bank there by, students will acquire minimum bank transaction skills. All the financial transactions of the college office and the departments is being done through the syndicate bank.

 

Open Air Theater :

 

A large spacious open air theater is situated on the college campus which provides the platform for the students to explore their hidden talent. Team events like youth festivals and other functions are conducted here.

 

Air Condition Auditorium :

 

Ranga Mandir : Well equipped (with all technical facilities, audio visual) Rang Mandir Srujana is housed on the campus to promote cultural activities as well as academic activities. Shri. Nandan Neilekani, a former CEO of INFOSYS and alumni of Karnatak Science College has donated this rangamandir.   

 

Center for Entrance Exam :

 

Center for Entrance Exam : Our college is the examination center for conducting Indian Institute of Science ( I.I.Sc.) entrance examination for Ph.D. programmes, many civil service examinations and many other entrance examinations. All these examination activities are being handled through the examination center.

 

Student Guidance and Grievance cell :

 

Student Guidance and Grievance cell: Dr. Anand Pandurangi, a well known Psychiatrist, Dr. H.M. Kashinath, P.G. Department of Educatiuon, K.U.D. and others help the principal and staff members to solve the personal and academic problems of the students.

 

STUDENTS CO-CURRICULAR & EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES :

 

1. National Cadet Corps: NCC aims at developing qualities of character, courage,discipline, leadership, secular outlook and spirit of adventure. Our college has got unique facility for the students to join NCC. 1/24 Coy NCC is looking forward for young men to join NCC. If you excel in NCC activities you can enjoy reserve seats in Medical and Engineering courses and Exemption from written test for entry into defense service.

 

2. National Service Scheme : There is one division of NSS under the Guidance of experienced NSS Officers.

 

3. Science Association : It is an organisation to conduct co-curricular activities in Science like arranging talks, debates, exhibitions, competitions etc. There is a regular selected body of students to form the managing committee under the chairmanship of a senior staff member. All the students of the college are its members.

 

4. Study Circles : Every department has its study circle. The students of concerned subjects are all associated with the activities of each study circle. Under the banner of study circle eminent scientists/speakers will be invited to motivate students. Students are encouraged to deliver seminars/group discussions and the best presenters will be rewarded with some prizes during the valedictory functions of the study circle. Excursions / study tours / industrial visits / plant collection trips will be regularly conducted for the students.

Semester System

Semester system for undergraduate students has been introduced to make their education to go hand in hand with the prevailing social, cultural, economic and technological environment. The courses are designed based on the needs of society in general.


Governing Council

The college has a governing council is headed by the Vice-Chancellor of Karnatak University, Syndicate Members, two staff members of the college and the Principal as secretary. It guides and regulates all the activities of the college.
